2009 sees curators Charlie Levine and Kate Pennington-Wilson returning to Birmingham School of Art to curate two shows in collaboration with its Art and Design Archives, entitled 'Treasure Seekers.' The Treasure Seekers programme was originally developed by the Art and Design Archives during 2006-2007 to encourage staff to interact with the collections. This time the curators intend to work with local artists and so David Miller and Natalia Morris have been invited to respond to the Archives, resulting in the creation of new works that will be displayed within the foyer space of Margaret Street during February and March 2009.

In spring 2008 Levine and Pennington-Wilson collated works from the Birmingham City University Art and Design Archives, along with objects discovered in BIAD students' studios as well as commissioning new 'archival' performance pieces by two former students of the University.  This exhibition, entitled Wunderkammer, presented a central 'cabinet of curiosity', filled with all the items of charm as well as two custom made cabinets in which artists David Miller and Edward Wakefield staged durational performances, lying in state, each representing an alter ego.
